In his latest podcast, co -founder Zerodha Nikhil Kamath asked Bengaluru’s transport commissioner if politicians who violate traffic signals would get Chalans. During the sincere interaction with the Police (Transport) B Dayananda and the joint police commissioner (transport) by MN Anucheth, a billionaire entrepreneur tried to understand the transport -related problems and how to solve.
B Dayananda answered the question of whether politicians breaking signals would gain Challany, and said, “Yeah, they do. Still paying because the driver has to.”

As cameras capture traffic violations
Anucheth explained how the cameras capture traffic disruptions, showed the Anucheth center of intelligent recovery and explained two key tools – ITM (intelligent control system of law enforcement) and checked the Chalany staff.
Speaking of ITMS, Anucheth said, “These are basically AI-based cameras that are at important intersections that detect seven types of violations-like wearing a seat belt.
He added that every raised challan is checked, which helps with machine learning.
Asked how many Challans are generated daily, Anucheth answered: “About 30,000 violations are evoked, of which 20,000 are challated.”
Anucheth also said that the ministry takes four types of photographs, including numeric plates. “What happens is because we are able to annotate and return it to the system to learn.”
