YSRCP Vizianagaram President Majji Srinivasa Rao joins TDP

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad President and District President Majji Srinivasa Rao joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the CM’s camp office on Tuesday.

Mr. Naidu welcomed Mr. Srinivasa Rao to the TDP by throwing a shawl around him. Mr. Srinivasa Rao’s daughter Siri Sahasra also joined the party and was welcomed by the Chief Minister

Earlier on Tuesday, Mr Srinivasa Rao submitted his resignation letter to former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy citing personal reasons. He also resigned from the YSRCP post in-charge of Bhimili constituency.

According to sources, Mr. Srinivasa Rao, who belongs to the Kapu community, had reportedly fallen out with his uncle Botcha Satyanarayana, a former minister and leader of opposition in the AP Legislative Council. Sources said, “Mr. Srinivasa Rao’s move to join the TDP comes ahead of the local body elections.”

Mr. Srinivasa Rao played a key role in YSRCP’s victory in the 2019 local body elections. YSRCP won all 34 Zilla Praja Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) seats and more than 90% Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) seats in the district.
