The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has questioned the “mysterious disappearance” of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his son and HRD Minister N. Lokesh.
“Their whereabouts have been unknown for the past four days,” alleged party spokesperson Karumuri Venkata Reddy said while addressing the media in Tadepalli on Thursday.
The government machinery has failed to clarify the foreign trips of the chief minister and the minister, he alleged, and demanded that the chief secretary and director general of police reveal the location and travel details of the two leaders.
Mr. Reddy alleged that despite holding top constitutional and executive posts, both the leaders maintained secrecy about their foreign visits.
He accused the NDA government of imposing a debt burden of ₹2.93 crore on the state in the year they came to power and alleged that the two leaders’ frequent foreign trips were “aimed at diverting public money and keeping wealth abroad through benami channels”.
Mr. Reddy claimed that Mr. Naidu travels abroad once every three months and Mr. Lokesh once every two months, often using special chartered flights. He further claimed that the government has become a center of corruption and lawlessness. Referring to the Srikalahasti case, he said the driver’s murder exposed the internal power struggle between the coalition partners.
