Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin on Monday (September 21, 2026) emphasized that youth power will shape the future and the vision of “Developed India by 2047” and urged the young generation to contribute to nation building by aligning themselves with the vision of “Viksit Bharat”.

Speaking at the Yuva Samvad program in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, the BJP chief said, “I appeal to the youth to contribute to nation building by coming together with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047 as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Your determination, study, experience and patience are the basis, if this immense strength, talent and intellectual capacity of every youth is given, the basis of success, energy, talent is your intellectual ability. in the right direction, then the youth can take the country to new heights.”

Shaping the future of the country

The BJP president, who is on a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, stressed the importance of a drug-free life, patriotism, yoga, meditation and environmental protection. Describing the youth as the most powerful force in shaping the country’s future after independence, Mr. Nabin said the country was often viewed from a regional or individual perspective, but now, with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’, 140 million Indians must move forward together in unity.

“India today is the country with the largest youth population in the world, and therefore the responsibility of the youth is the greatest. The current generation must avoid ‘shortcuts’ in life. The youth of today may watch ‘reels’, but they really like what is ‘real’, i.e. reality. The reach of artificial things is limited, so one must set a clear goal in life, a map and move forward with students. Their ultimate goal should not be limited to their own development or the development of their family but should be nation building,” he said.

A drug free society

Mr. Nabin expressed concern over the growing prevalence of drug abuse in society and urged everyone to join the drug-free campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15. Calling study, experience and patience the pillars of leadership and success, the BJP chief added that the youth must develop these qualities.

“The three main pillars of leadership are study, experience and patience. By imbibing these in life, leadership skills can be developed in any field. Similarly, while the 100-meter race tests one’s speed, a long-distance race tests ‘stamina’, that is, patience and endurance. Life is a long-distance race. If the youth maintain their endurance and consistency, they will surely be able to go the distance.

Earlier in the day, Mr Nabin paid floral tributes to fallen soldiers at the Indian National Army Martyrs’ Memorial and Park. After addressing the youth programme, he attended the ‘Shakti Kendra Sammelan (Western Region)’ and held a special meeting with former officials, members of parliament, legislators and senior workers of the western region.

On Tuesday (September 22, 2026), Mr. Nabin will hold a meeting with dignitaries and prominent citizens of the region in Meerut. He will then visit the historic Augharnath temple in the city to offer prayers.
