Youth detained for making false threat against Kerala CM Satheesan
A youth from Pandikkadu in Malappuram district was taken into custody by the Kozhikode city police on Sunday (October 25, 2026) for allegedly sending a fake threat message warning of a potential attack on Chief Minister VD Satheesan in Kozhikode.
According to the police, the youth sent a message to the police control room that there was a high probability of the chief minister being targeted and that security measures needed to be beefed up significantly with the deployment of additional personnel.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the recording was a fake report intended to mislead law enforcement. Police officials said the youth was taken into custody to verify his background and the trigger mechanism that led to sending such a message.
Security personnel took the news very seriously when the Chief Minister was in Kozhikode on Sunday to inaugurate the 68th Kerala State Schools Sports Meet. Police sources said the suspect was tracked down within hours of receiving the report.
