A bust of Mahatma Gandhi installed at Gandhi Circle in Haveri was found damaged on Monday morning and the police arrested a 28-year-old youth, who is said to be mentally unstable, after starting an investigation into the case.
According to a press release issued by the Superintendent of Police, Haveri, the bust of Mahatma Gandhi was vandalized between 11 pm on Sunday and 5 am on Monday.
