Young people who want to accept agriculture should not ignore the role of marketing in profitable agriculture, says Scaria Pillai CJ, which on Wednesday won the Sibi Kallingal Memorial Kallingal Memorial Karshakotham.
A veteran farmer from Pitpilly, Palakkad, waxing a lyric about his agricultural companies that cover fruit, livestock, pisciculture and modern agricultural methods.
The Minister of Agriculture P. Prasad announced the State Farm 2024 awards on Wednesday at a press conference. Award-winning farmer, 75, Mr. Scaria Pillai, says he has been a farmer over the last 58-59 years.
Its inventory
Today, among other things, it grows various varieties of arecanuta, coconut, mangoes, jackfruit, dragon fruit and nutmeg on its farms. “This place is ideal for mango,” he says about Pitpilly, which is in Chittur Taluk. “Young people who are dealing with agriculture should also explore their ways for marketing their production,” he said.
The livestock on its farms include cows and goats. Other activities include hi-tech hub breeding and aquaponics. His wife Mini is actively involved in the management of the farm, he says. One of his three sons is currently managed by family tourism, Thantima Farm Life.
Mr. Scaria Pillai was born in 1951 in Koothattukulum. In the 70s he moved to Palakkad. In 2024, he is the Karshakashree Award Award and in 2006 MS Swaminathan Award.
Mr. Scaria Pillai and his wife Mini have three sons, Richard, Reynold and Harold.
