Senior doctor and Padma Shri awardee Kutikuppala Surya Rao on Tuesday urged young doctors to focus on research and continuing medical education (CME) to excel in their careers and serve the society in a better way.
Dr. Rao, a member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS), has been invited to be a panelist at the NAMS Annual Convention to be held between October 9 and 11 at the SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Center in Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Speaking to the media, Kutikuppala Surya Rao said that the invitation was a matter of pride and great honor for his home district of Srikakulam, as he said no one from Andhra Pradesh had been given the opportunity to participate as a judge in recent times.
“I will study every single paper presented by doctors at the conference and suggest it to the authorities of NAMS, which is the highest academic body for the oversight of the medical profession in India.
“I request all doctors of Andhra Pradesh to focus on research and come up with suggestions to deal with many dreaded diseases. They can recommend new treatment methods that are affordable. Their studies and efforts to update their knowledge would benefit budding doctors and help thousands of patients across the country,” said Dr. Surya Rao.
