Donald Trump’s Administration denies the immigration benefits for anti -Semitic activities on social media and the harassment of Jews, the Federal Agency announced on Wednesday.
“Today, US citizenship and immigration services (USCIS) will consider the anti -Semitic activity of extraterrestrials on social media and physical harassment of Jewish individuals as reasons for denial of immigration requests,” the federal agency said.
The Regulations will come into force immediately and will be verified by the activities of social media immigrants who require benefits, including those who apply for the status of permanent residence, foreign students and people associated with educational institutions.
The agency will consider the content of social media, which indicates “approval, report, promotion or support for anti -Semitic terrorism, anti -Semitic terrorist organization or other anti -Semitic activity as a negative factor” and at the same time provides immigration benefits.
Who are extremists?
For the description of extremists, USCIS referred to those who support “anti -Semitic terrorism, violent anti -Semitic ideologies and anti -Semitic terrorist organizations. It was also called Hamas, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah.
“There is no room in the United States for the rest of the terrorist sympathizers in the world and we are not obliged to admit them or let them stay here,” said DHS assistant for Tricia McLaughlin. “Sec. Noem explained that anyone who thinks he can come to America, and hide behind the first supplement to defend anti-Semitic violence and terrorism again. You are not welcome here.”
The latest order comes after the announcement of the Ministry of Internal Security has been issued, stating that social media will be collected to apply for benefits such as green cards or citizenship. This announcement raised concerns about the advocates of immigration and freedom of expression because it was considered to be measures to extend the reach of the government in sight of social media.
However, the practice of supervising social media for immigration has existed for more than ten years since the second term of Barack Obama as the US President.
After Donald Trump entered the White House in January, attempts to deport foreign students who supported Pro-Palestinian protests or expressed criticism of Israel.
