As part of the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations, the Chittoor District Administration organized a mega yoga event on Friday. About 5,000 participants, including government officials and the public, took part in the event.
The Sumit Kumar district collector, who addressed the participants, emphasized the importance of yoga for personal well -being. “Yoga exercises should be a regular feature in everyone’s life, regardless of age. Yoga is able to make one rich physically and mentally, and also phenomenally reduce treatment expenses,” he said.
“The state government ordered the districts to organize yoga camps from May 21 to June 21st. The Chittoor district was given six such events. The upcoming camps will be carried out in penumura, Puligund, Chowdepalle, Boyakond, Naniyal and Kangundi Fort in Kuppam,” he said.
He said that from 1 June, up to 500 main trainers would give 6,000 individuals throughout the district, and they would support the awareness of yoga at the local level, especially focused on rural areas of June 20.
“Thanks to the fact that yoga in everyday routine can successfully reduce stress and improve the functioning of vital organs, besides mental health,” the collector said.
District physician and medical officer DT SUDha, CEO of Zilla Parisad Ravi Kumar Naidu, district firefighter PeddiDiredy and higher officials of various government authorities participated in a yoga camp.
