The Consulate also organizes a monthly celebration of yoga across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Connecticut, which testifies to widespread participation.
In December 2014, the UN General Assembly declared June 21 as International Yoga Day. The resolution proposed to India and supported by record 175 Member States recognized by the universal withdrawal of this practice.
