In the next five days, light to moderate thunderstorms influenced by upper cyclonic circulations over Bay of Bengal are expected over various parts of Kerala. An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over the central Bay of Bengal, while another over northern interior Tamil Nadu and surrounding areas extends up to 3.1 km above sea level. This is likely to bring isolated heavy showers in some parts of the state. A yellow alert has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Idukki and Ernakulam on Tuesday where isolated heavy showers are likely, according to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.
