Yellow alert for four counties on July 18

Parts of Kerala are likely to receive isolated heavy showers in the next few days triggered by revived monsoon conditions.

A yellow alert was issued for Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode and Malappuram districts on Saturday (July 18) where isolated heavy rain is expected.

Five districts including Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Malappuram were also put on yellow alert on Sunday.

According to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday, the trough runs from southwest Bay of Bengal to North Lakshadweep region across North Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka and North Kerala at an altitude of 7.6 km above mean sea level. Under the influence of the system, rainfall activity will continue across the state for the next four days, the bulletin said.
