Star India Batter Yashsvi Jaiswal is on the verge of etching his name in record books and leaving legends such as Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid. Since the debut of 2023, the young man has been a rapid increase in international cricket and is already one of the best young players in the world.
Southpaw could further etch his name in record books because he has a golden chance to become the fastest Indian to score 2000 runs in tests. Jaiswal has currently scored 1798 runs in the longest format of 19 matches (36 shifts) on average 52.88 with four hundred and ten fifty names.
If he manages to complete the 2000-brand brand in the next three shifts, he can leave Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag to complete the fastest 2000 runs for India in tests. Both the bird of prey and Sehwag has achieved a monument in 40 shifts, and therefore it is a great opportunity for Jaiswal to achieve a historical performance in the upcoming series in England.
However, Southpaw will face a massive task to open up in the rocking conditions of England. He also did not have a good start to tour and registered only one half a century in four shifts in warm accessories against England Lions.
Jaiswal had a good start to his career in overseas conditions, when he finished as the second highest shooter of the border Gavascar Trophy 2024-25 with 391 runs out of ten shifts on average 43.44 with one hundred and two fifties. Therefore, he will be eager to continue his good form and to hand over the English challenge to etch his name in historical books.
Jaiswal opens shifts along with Kl Rahul, who started a tour with a century against England Lions and also scored half a century in the game inside the squad.
