Medical Education and Skill Development Minister Sharan Prakash Patil said the state government would set up a super specialty hospital and trauma care center at Yadgir.
Dr. Addressing reporters here on Saturday, Patil said that Yadgir district needs a super specialty hospital and trauma care center to meet the growing demand as currently patients depend on Kalaburagi for medical emergencies.
Refraining from answering politically related questions, he said that YIMS was recently established and the required staff would soon be filled as per the guidelines, hence the management committee was asked to follow the norms in recruitment.
Dr. Patil said that the construction of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research branch in Hubballi is underway and it will be inaugurated soon.
Earlier, the minister visited various wards in the district hospital attached to YIMS and directed the doctors to maintain cleanliness and ensure immediate and proper medical care to the patients.
