They first beat Pakistan by 104 runs in Mirpur and followed it up with another emphatic win in the second Test. As a result, Bangladesh climbed to fifth place in the WTC table with 58.33 percentage points.India, meanwhile, has slipped to sixth despite having more points as the ranking is based on percentage points rather than total points scored.Shubman Gill-led India have had an inconsistent start to the current WTC cycle. The team has played nine tests so far, winning four, losing four and drawing one.India’s poor results included a 0–2 defeat in the home series against the South African national cricket team and two losses during their England tour where the five-match series ended 2–2.Interestingly, India have yet to play a Test match this year. They are due to face Afghanistan in a one-off Test in June, but that match will not count towards the WTC standings.Later this year, India will tour Sri Lanka and New Zealand for an important two-Test series that could greatly affect their chances of reaching another WTC final. At the top of the table, the Australian national cricket team remains firmly on top with 87.50 percentage points after winning seven of the eight Tests.New Zealand is second, followed by South Africa and Sri Lanka. Pakistan remain in eighth place after managing just one win from four Tests in the current WTC cycle.
