
South Africa and Australia are ready to lock the corners at the World Championship (WTC) Final 2025, which began from Wednesday 11th June in Lord’s in London. ICC (International Criket Council) announced record prices for the ongoing WTC cycle to prefer the test cricket.
India failed to qualify for the first time to the WTC finals in its history After completion as a runner of the last two editions. Asian giants lost in New Zealand (2021) and Australia (2023), in two finals, when they missed stoking the demanding MACE two consecutive times.
In the ongoing cycle, the 0-3 Whitewash series at home against New Zealand and 1-3 loss in Border Gavascar Trophy (BGT) against Australia meant that India ended the third in the WTC point table and earned 50% points. As a result, they earn $ 1.44 million (Rs $ 12.30). This is a huge increase in the winnings granted in 2023, which was $ 450,000 (Rs $ 3.84).
The WTC Cycle 2023-25 winner takes more than double the number of last edition wins because it has increased from $ 1.6 million to $ 3.6 million ($ 30.76). On the other hand, the price of finalists increased from $ 800,000 to $ 2.16 million (18.45 crore).
New Zealand, which finished fourth, earns $ 1.44 million, an increase from $ 350,000, while the fifth place, finishing England, earns $ 960,000, another massive jump from the last issue of $ 200,000.
In the WTC 2021-23 cycle, teams that ended up sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth, awarded $ 100,000. In this edition, however, Sri Lanka (sixth) will receive $ 840,000, Bangladesh (seventh) will be awarded $ 720,000 and West Indies, which finished eighth, will receive $ 600,000. Meanwhile, Pakistan earns money to $ 480,000 for the last one in the ninth place.
