On Monday, in protest against the recent remark of the veteran multilingual actor Kamal Haasan, Kannada, Dharwad, Dharwad, Dharwad, Dharwad, Dharwad, Dharwad in Dharwad, Dharwad in Dharwad, Dharwad in Dharwad, Dharwad in Dharwad in Dharwad, Dharwad.
During the protest, headed by Karnatak Vidyavardhak Sangha, the protesters were organized by the deputy Commissioner in Dharwad Sit-in Sit-in in front of the Deputy Commissioner in Dharwad.
The protest was in line with the decisions taken during the recent Sangha consultancy after the actor refused to apologize for his remark.
About addressing the protesters, President Sangha Chandrakanth Bellad, Secretary General Shankar Halagatti and others, including writers and intellectuals, strongly condemned the actor’s stubborn behavior, despite strong criticism and a number of protests across the state against him.
They said that the veteran actor behaves in an irresponsible way even after the court gave him the opportunity to apologize for his remark.
The speakers have explained that Sangha has no opposition to Tamil’s language or Tamil-speaking people, because it is a known fact that languages from the proto-nidian language have evolved into different languages.
They also explained that their protest was not against Tamil’s language or Tamil, but against the irresponsible statement of Kamal Haasan and his subsequent behavior.
Demonstrators demanded that he withdraw his unfounded statement about Kannada, expressed regret and apologize to Kannadig. If he did not, Sangha will be forced to initiate intensive nationwide agitation, they said.
