Writer, academic Leela Prasad dies after a long illness

Assistant Professor Dr. BR Ambedkar University Gunta Leela Varaprasad died of prolonged illness at Shyamsundarapuram village in Tekkali Assembly constituency of Srikakulam district in the early hours of Sunday.

Mr. Leela Varaprasad started his career as a journalist in 1995. He has written several books on the issues of North Andhra region which have attracted the attention of many academicians and researchers in the state. He has also written several books on the political service of veteran public representatives and their contribution to society.

Ambedkar University Vice Chancellor KR Rajani expressed shock over the sudden death of Dr. Leela Varaprasad and recalled his contribution to the journalism profession over the last three decades. Andhra Pradesh Journalists Forum State Secretary Sasanapu Joginaidu, Association Srikakulam District President G. Shanmukha Rao and others recalled their association with Dr. By Varaprasad.
