The player list for the WPL 2026 auction has been officially released and it features a huge pool of 277 cricketers competing for just 73 available slots when the auction takes place in New Delhi on November 27. The increase in participation highlights the league’s rapid rise, with the number of registered players more than doubling from last year’s roster of 120.
At the top of the line-up are eight marquee players: Deepti Sharma and Renuka Singh (India), Sophie Devine and Amelia Kerr (New Zealand), Sophie Ecclestone (England), Alyssa Healy and Meg Lanning (Australia) and Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa).
The list of this year’s auctions includes 194 Indian players, including 52 limited overs and 142 uncappedwho will compete for 50 of the 73 available slots across five franchises. Among the 83 overseas players are 66 capped players and 17 uncapped players vying for the remaining 23 spots. With most teams retaining their core from last season, the auction becomes a critical window to reshape squads, plug weaknesses and rebuild ahead of the 2026 campaign. Established sides will look to fine-tune combinations, while lower-ranked teams face pressure to identify the right players to spark a turnaround.
In the price structure, 19 players registered in the highest base price category of 50,000,000, followed by 11 players in the 40,000,000 category. The 30,000 million group is the most crowded with 88 players, signaling intense competition in the mid-range.
The auction will begin at 15:30 IST with the marquee set – a high-profile opening round featuring eight of the world’s leading women cricketers. With a vast talent pool, increased interest and teams eager to strengthen ahead of another intense season, the WPL 2026 auction promises strategic battles, dramatic bidding wars and the creation of teams capable of reshaping the future of the league.
