February 9, 2026

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has asked Pakistan to participate in the T20 World Cup match against India scheduled for Sunday, February 15 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for standing by Bangladesh after they pulled out of the tournament after the ICC refused to relocate their matches from India.

“We are deeply moved by Pakistan’s efforts to go above and beyond to support Bangladesh in this period. May our brotherhood flourish,” Aminul said in a statement issued by BCB.

“Following my brief visit to Pakistan yesterday and in view of the forthcoming outcome of our discussions, I request Pakistan to play an ICC T20 World Cup match against India on February 15 for the benefit of the entire cricketing ecosystem,” Aminul added.
