India Gulveer Singh failed to qualify for the 5000 meters of men at the 2025 athletics World Championship in Tokyo. Gulveer, who competed in Heat 2, remained in the first eight best races before being expelled by the Norwegian Jacob Ingebrigtsen only 0.19 seconds.
The Indian national record holder, which ended in February 2025 12: 59.77 at the Boston University of Terrier DMR Challenge, eventually ended with a time of 13: 42,34. Earlier at the championship, Gulveer placed on 16th place in the final of 10,000 m men.

Anna Rani Falters in Tokyo
Indian spear Thrower Anna Rani lasted disappointment at the World Athletics Championship and finished 15th in the qualification of the female spear of Group A. Rani, which holds the best of 63.82 meters in 2022 at the Indian Open in Jamshedpur, did not reach her usual standards and managed the best efforts of only 55.18 m.
She opened the campaign a modest 54.54 MA left her to 10. Her second attempt showed marginal progress, reached 55.18 m, but it was still far from the automatic qualifying mark.
With the assembly of pressure, Rani landed the third and last throw at 55.10 meters and confirmed his east from the competition. He could throw a direct place in the final near her personal best, but instead of Rani’s substituting efforts, the campaign prematurely ended.
