A one-day workshop on industrial LPG and CNG safety was held in Hyderabad on Tuesday, which brought together about 130 delegates from factories across Telangana. Organized by the Telangana branch of the National Safety Council in association with the Department of Factories, the program was held at the Surana Auditorium in FTCCI Complex, Red Hills.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Secretary Labour, Employment, Training and Factories M. Dana Kishore stressed the need for continuous skill development in industrial units and said that even a modest investment in safety can prevent loss of life. He warned against any complacency in enforcing safety protocols and emphasized the importance of safe handling of LPG in both domestic and industrial settings.
Director of Factories Y. Mohan Babu said the department had organized a train-the-trainer program for safety professionals in September as directed by the Minister of Labour, Employment, Training and Factories, Mines and Geology. Trained personnel have since provided safety training to nearly 35,000 employees working in hazardous units over the past two months. He noted that the ministry is now planning to hold district-level safety training programs for factory workers in the coming months.
