Biocon Chairman Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw renewed the criticism of the Bengalur infrastructure caused the sharp reactions of the Karnataka ministers who prevented governmental civil works and questioned the foundation of its notes.
Shaw, one of the most important Indian leaders of Indian businesses, published on X (formerly Twitter) that a foreign business visitor in BioCon Park was amazed by the condition of roads and the amount of garbage in the city and asked if the government seriously supported investments.
“I had an overseas business visitor Biocon Park, who said,” Why are roads so bad and why is there so much waste? Does the government want to support investments? “Shaw wrote. The visitor added, she just arrived from China and” could not understand why India could not combine her act, especially when the winds are favorable “.
Her contribution, which described the main Minister Siddaramaiah, a representative of CM DK Shivakumar and IT Minister Priyank Kharge, caused the reaction of the state government.
“Kiran Mazumdar is a great benefit for our state and country. It has created a name with Biocon for Bengalura. Bengalur also returned to her – it is mutual,” said MB Patil, Minister for Great and Central Industry and Infrastructure. “There were potholes and heavy rainfall before, and now they are involved. Thousands of CRORE have been assigned and work is running. When the work continues, tweeting is not in good taste again.”
IT Minister Priyank Kharge responded in a similar spirit. “I’m not sure which part of the Bengalur they have seen. As I said, work is going on. We are growing at a fast pace and anything is necessary to improve infrastructure, we do it,” Kharge said.
Shaw has repeatedly raised concerns about the civic infrastructure of Bengalur and its impact on the global competitiveness of the city. Last month, she criticized the “shabby completion” of a road project shared by the Bengalur civic body and said that while the effort was visible, the quality remained insufficient. At the beginning of this year, she even did not compare Bengaluru Street with the ones in Ecuador and urged the city to “hang his head with shame”.
Her remarks hit the chord with parts of the city commercial community, some of which warned that poor infrastructure could move companies. The CEO of the transport company recently announced plans to move operations from the outer circular road due to deteriorating road conditions.
The city’s city authorities, Bruhhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), have launched the initiative “Bengalur Bengaluru – Vibrung Bengalur” in recent months, which includes plans for improved sidewalks, cycling lanes and green spaces. He also suggested £50 crore for decorative lighting and £25 Crore for Skydeck project aimed at improving the city’s aesthetics.
