When the Women’s World Championship began on September 30, Indian cricket stars of Indian men threw their weight for a female team led by Harmanpreet Kaur as they chased the first title. The tournament opener will see India at Sri Lanka at the Barsapa stadium in Guwahati.
Captain T20i Suryakumar Yadav reserved special praise for the dough of Jemimah Rodrigues, which comes from his hometown Mumbai.
“It is always good to see someone from your home city playing so many local games, represented the state, and then continued to play for India. Jemimah has always been a great artist. Playing the World Cup is a huge opportunity and I’m sure it will deliver because she is great teammates and brings amazing energy to the ground.
Rodrigues has 1,457 ODI runs on average 32.38 with the best 123 career against South Africa. Recently, however, it was excluded from the ongoing Australian ODI series due to a viral fever, and Tejal Hasabnis was appointed as a replacement.
Meanwhile, Wicketkeeper-BATER Richa Ghosh received shining words From Sanja Samson, who appreciated her peace and fearless launching.
“We all love watching Rich Ghosh. The way the bats and keeps the goals always looks calm and confident. There is a lot to learn from it. Wearing the blue jersey in this country is never easy and behind the scenes there was a lot of hard work,” Samson said.
All-Rounder Hardik Pandy also sent his wishes to the team before their campaign.
“I am very excited and I just want to wish the female team good luck. All India supports you. Go there and enjoy sport – they are not afraid, either by yourself. Remember that a billion people support you,” Pandya said.
India, runners in 2017, will finally raise the trophy this time. The five -day tournament will see 31 matches played in five places in India and Sri Lanka, closing the finals of November 2.
