The International Criket Council (ICC) on Friday confirmed the change of venue in the upcoming ODI World Cup. Five matches originally scheduled at the M Chinnaswama stadium, including the opening game of the tournament and potential finals, moved to the Navi Mumbai’s Dy Patil stadium.
Changing the venue comes after the cricket body of Karnataka failed to ensure the necessary approval of the state police to host matches at the iconic place due to impacts during the celebrations of the Royal Challengers Bengalur after the IPL 2025 finals in June.
