
The Women’s Convention organized by the Association of Employees of the All India Loco on Erode submitted a Charter of Requirements to ensure a dignified life of female locomine pilots in Indian railways. Requirements include enabling toilet facilities during service, providing water toilets in locomotives, building toilets near starting signals, stopping holidays during pregnancy and childcare and allowing breastfeeding to mothers to return to the exchanges after each trip.
They were also looking for the right rest of the running rooms and a separate crew hall with toilets for a lady that runs on the staff at all points of the crew reservation. The name of “internal complaints” in all lobbies, as required by law, must be published. In addition, they were also looking for a menstrual holiday for a lady operating a staff and a gynecologist in all railway hospitals daily, including, among other things.
The meeting started CS Sujath, a former member of the parliament. Eighteen female locomine pilots from two railway divisions in Kerala were attended by the Convention, according to the statement issued by All India Loco Running Association Association here on Wednesday.
