A 40-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend.
The incident took place near a government school in Pillanna Garden on KG Halli police station limits on Friday.
The victim has been identified as Renuka 40, a resident of Pillanna Garden. The police took the accused Kutti 43, resident of KG Halli into custody. Kutti worked in a private firm.
According to the police, Renuka was a domestic help. She was divorced and in a relationship with Kutti, a married man. The two had known each other for some time as they lived in nearby locations.
When Renuka started pressuring Kutti to marry her and said she no longer wanted a secret affair, Kutti reportedly opposed the idea. On Friday, when Renuka was returning home from work, Kutti called her for a meeting near a government school, claiming he wanted to talk.
During the confrontation, Kutti allegedly assaulted Renuka in public and stabbed her several times before fleeing the scene.
Passers-by rushed her to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries. KG Halli police have registered a case.
