The woman is believed to have been killed and eaten by an unidentified animal in the Pykara Forest Range in Anumapuram of the Nilgiris Forest Division. The incident is believed to have occurred on April 11, but her remains were discovered on Wednesday (April 15).
The forest department has identified the deceased as R. Parvathi, a resident who went missing after leaving her house on April 11. On Wednesday, residents reportedly found signs of an animal attack in the tea estate.
