
Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police arrested a 46 -year -old woman for her involvement in a large fraud of digital arrest.
The defendant, Krothapalli Rithika, a real estate entrepreneur from the comprehensive, Hyderabad, was associated with 32 similar fraud in India, including three in Telangana.
The case came to light when Hyderabad’s residents received a call from a person rising as the main constant from the police station Kurla, Bandra, Mumbai. The fraudster informed the victim that the case was registered against him. He also claimed that the ICICI bank account was opened on behalf of the victim at the Bandra-Kurla branch in Mumbai and was used for illegal transactions. The victim was then asked to join Skype call, where he was forced to convert his entire bank balance to a specified account for verification to confirm that he had not attended money washing or other illegal activities. The fraudster assured him that the money would be returned within 24 hours with the police check -in certificate.
Although she did not have the required amount in her bank account, the victim was convinced to take a pre -approved loan from ICICI banks. He then transferred 3.57 998 GBP to the fraudulence account.
After investigating the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police, three individuals from Andhra Pradesh – Thea Srinivasa Rao, at the age of 58, Jeevan Kumar, aged 38, and T. Raghuveer at the age of 40.
They were returned to judicial custody.
Krothapalli Rithika was arrested on 29 and was also successful.
During the operation, the police renewed several items, including mobile phones, checking books from various banks, depositors, sheet checks, stamps, QR code scanner, ATMs and SIM cards.
The fraudsters chose victims through social media, telegram platforms, WhatsApp and internet calls. They presented themselves as agencies such as telecommunications, trai, CBI, CID and cyber crime. The victims were falsely accused of crimes such as money washing, trading people and terrorism. Under the pretext of digital arrest, fraudsters pushed the victims to transfer funds for inspection and claimed that the Indian reserve bank and the Supreme Court allowed this procedure. Once the victims have transferred money, the fraudsters reduced all contact.
