Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said on Monday that Hyderabad has become a preferred destination for global companies due to its strong infrastructure, industry-friendly policies and talent-rich ecosystem.
The combination of top talent, startup culture and collaboration between industry and academia makes Hyderabad the perfect place for companies to grow, he said after inaugurating US Vanguard’s Global Value Center in the city along with IT and Industry Minister D. Sridhar Babu.
He assured that the Telangana government would provide support to Vanguard and urged the firm to explore collaboration with educational institutions, research centers and innovation hubs in the state. “By working together, we can create solutions that not only serve global markets, but also contribute to the development of local communities,” he said. He urged Vanguard management to consider acquiring space in Bharat Future City, a futuristic city the state government plans to build in Hyderabad, and build the company’s own campus there, the Deputy CM’s office said.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sridhar Babu said that Telangana was pursuing an ambitious target of hosting 120 more Global Capability Centers (GCCs) by next year. The new facilities are expected to generate nearly 1.2 lakh jobs, he said, adding that despite challenging global market conditions and a complex geopolitical situation, the state had successfully anchored more than 70 GCC countries last year.
The decision by Vanguard, one of the world’s largest investment management companies, to choose Hyderabad for its GVC reflects the city’s talent, stability and global competitiveness, the minister’s office said in a statement.
Mr. Sridhar Babu said that Telangana government is not only attracting investment but also preparing the local youth for future employment. “To ensure our youth benefit from these jobs, we will provide skills, reskilling and upskilling in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, cloud engineering and cyber security,” he said.
With Vanguard, seven of the world’s leading asset management firms have operations in Hyderabad, collectively managing over $30 trillion in assets, reaffirming the city’s position as a global driving force for financial innovation and technology. The new Vanguard Center will focus on technical excellence, cloud modernization, AI-based solutions, data security and global digital platforms. “We invite international industry leaders to become partners in the Rising Telangana story,” the minister said, inviting more global firms to invest in the state.
Global Chief Information Officer at Vanguard Nitin Tandon said Hyderabad represents a thriving technology ecosystem with talent and ambition. Vanguard India head Venkatesh Natarajan said the new office will create technology capabilities that are innovative, scalable and meaningful for investors worldwide.
The firm’s leadership team met Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy earlier this year and announced plans for the facility.
