With local bodies of public opinion surveys, hardly a few months away, the contradictory queues in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation sharpened their attacks on opponents. This was evident at the recent Corporation Council meetings, which witnessed a rush of accusation of corruption, protests and clothing, sometimes required by police staff intervention.
After a long -term protest against income collection issues in 2021, the current period was relatively peaceful, and the disturbance of the council meeting was a rare event. However, it seems that this has changed over the past few weeks.
Accusation of corruption
At the meeting of Council 26 June, the Democratic Front (LDF) laid the opposition party Bharatiya Janata (BJP) on the defensive by compensating the accusation of corruption against two of his councilors. Punnakkamugal Council PV Manju was charged with helping to cover the alleged abuse of approximately 3 lakh collected by the local unit of Harith Karma hay (HKS) as a user fee of households to the department. The problem came to light when some members of the unit raised a complaint with the junior medical inspector that their monthly wage, which is dependent on the user fee, has been delayed.
Councilor Pappanamcode GS Asha Nath has been charged with gathering money from recipients for providing a company for various schemes. BJP vehemently defended both advice. At the next Council meeting on Monday, both councilors were in the forefront of violent protests when BJP equalized the accusation of corruption against LDF, which was charged with protectionism in the inclusion of LDF names on the list for the appointment of sanitary staff. LDF claimed that the list was prepared in a transparent way through employment.
Although both queues seem to continue with other protests over the accusations, the United Democratic Front (UDF) did not actually feel its presence, which reflected its reduced numbers in the Council.
In 2020 local election elections LDF Maimal BJP Tough Challenge to improve its number in the 100-Ward Council to 51 out of 43 in 2015. He also gained the support of three independent councilors and also won three bytes that were held in the present period. The BJP, which in 2015 achieved significant profits, improved its sum from six seats to 35, remained almost static in 34 chairs.
With the rewinding of the outlines of the department and the increase in the next department after the recent definition, the three queues are expected to go all to maintain their forts and struggle with control of the departments they have lost for the last time.
