Pope Francis, who was away from the public’s eyes for a serious case of pneumonia, surprised all the surprises when he made his first and improvised appearance on Vatican Square.
Pope Francis was sitting on a wheelchair with an oxygen tube in the nose and seeing greet his followers when he was through St. Peter’s Square. During his surprising performance he also talked to several.
“Good Sunday to everyone. Thank you very much,” said the 88 -year -old Pope for a mass dedicated to the sick. While his voice felt tense, but better than the time he left the hospital in March. His last public performance was February 14.
While Pope Francis is to go through recovery for two months, his appearance in public was an encouraging signal for his health just before Easter.
“He is doing better, it is clear and wants it to be seen. It is not good enough to deliver the message, but well enough to make a gesture … and showed up,” AFP quoted.
