The Ministry of Civil Aviation announced that Wings India 2026, the largest Asian civil air event that takes place in Hyderabad, will serve as a key platform to demonstrate the Indian Aviation Growth story, promotion of investment opportunities and highlighting the emerging technology, including advanced air mobility (AAM).
AAM generally refers to the use of aircraft technologies of a new age, often electric, hybrid or autonomous, for short to medium -distance transport in urban and rural environments. It includes air taxis, electrical vertical take -offs and landing (EVTOL) and drone -based logistics, with potential applications from the release of urban overload to increased access in remote or untouched areas.
AAM also copes with global efforts about sustainability, as many of these technologies focus on low -emission or zero emissions.
The Minister of Civil Aviation K. Rammohan Naid, who responded to the question of Lok Sabha, reported that Wings India would provide a platform for AAM, which appears worldwide as a boundary in air transport technology.
Although no direct regulatory permits or financial packages within Wings India 2026 have been completed, this event will facilitate political discussion, technological demonstration and pilot demonstrations focused on forming future Indian regulatory and project frames for AAM. There are obligations with state governments, OEM, regulatory bodies and other parties involved in identifying feasible applications such as medical logistics, reaction to disasters and connecting to the last mile, he said.
The Minister said that the four -day event will connect the global participating party through exhibitions, technical sessions, round tables and high -level dialogues.
The primary objectives include attracting investment in the air ecosystem, supporting cooperation between airlines, manufacturers of original facilities, infrastructure providers and investors and supporting innovation in digital aviation, security and sustainability.
Wings India 2026 will take place from 28 to 31.
