In view of the Rama Navami festival, police in Malkajgiri, Cyberbad and Future City ordered temporary closure of all liquor shops in their jurisdictions on March 27.
All toddy shops, wine shops, bars adjacent to restaurants, military canteens, including those in star hotels and registered clubs, will remain closed on the day of the festival from 10 am to 10 pm, according to an official announcement by the police commissioners on Thursday (March 26, 2026). The order was issued under Section 20 of the Telangana State Excise Act, 1968.
