
The best rated Aryna Sabalenka booked her place in the third round of Wimbledon’s female singles 2025 on Wednesday 2. Belarus fought for an hour and 35 minutes to secure 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 victories.
Bouzek was pushing Sabalenek in a solid opening set and forcing a break. At 4-4 in the circuit breaker, the momentum could turn in both directions, but Sabalenka’s Composure and Experience proved to be decisive when she claimed three more points to take the file.

In the second set, Sabalenek earned a major break in the fifth game to go up 3-2 and from there to hold firmly to close the match.
With several of the highest seeds, including Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula, already discarded, Sabalenka remains one of the few popular in the draw. During the tournament, she expressed hope of less upset.

Elsewhere, Madison Keys released into the third round with the commanding 6-4, 6-2 victories over the Serbian Olga Danilovic. The ruling Australian Open champion will also face the German Laura Siegemund, who upset Canadian Leylah Fernandez.
In the draw of men, the British Cameron Norrie plunged into the third round after a four-hundred victory over Frances Tiafoe in court 1 and returned to claim the victory of 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-5. Norrie will meet the winner of the match between Jiri Lehechka and Mattia Bellucci.
