The 38-year-old Serbian came from the orchard to win 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in three hours and 18 minutes and stayed at the 25th Grand Slam title. Djokovic, the seven -time Wimbledon champion, is chasing the record of Roger Federer eight titles at the All England club. Federer was appropriately in the royal box during the match. “This is probably the first time he follows me and I won the match,” Djokovic joked. “It’s great to have Roger, a huge champion, someone I admired and respected a lot,” he said, as AFP quoted. The sixth seed was 16 unforced errors in the bad first set, including four double failures. At the beginning of the second set, however, he fought with a 19 -minute game and eventually found his rhythm. Djokovic broke late in the third and fourth in five direct games ran to seal the victory. “I was very pleased to hang in the right moments in hard moments and won this,” he said.
He will also face the Italian Flavio Cobollima with a possible semi -final clash with World No.1 Jannik Sinner. Elsewhere, Belinda Bencic reached its first quarterfinal in Wimbledon by defeating the 18th seed of eco-eco-eco-ray 7-6 (4), 6-4.
