The President of Congress Tamil Nadu (TNCC) K. Selvaperunthagai said on Sunday that he would not want to publicly speak of the number of seats that his party plans to seek from DMK for the next year’s elections.
When he approached Journalists in Chennai, he said he would tell the expectations of the State Unit All India Congress Congress Congress Congress Congress (AIC) and DMK leadership. “I am president of the TNCC. I cannot talk about it in public. I communicate with the expectations of our leaders with AICC. We will talk about it with our alliance partners,” he said.
Mr Selvavaperunthagai said that the Congress questions that would attack the reduced number of seats in the Alliance led by DMK in the last two elections to the Assembly should be answered by leaders who allowed it. “Only those who took 41 seats (2016) from 63 seats (2011) and then those who took 25 seats (2021) after accepting 41 seats should answer this question.
Mr. Selvavaperunthagai said there was no need to condemn the leaders who had spoken openly about their expectations, and said the DMK-Congress Alliance was strong and won after the elections. “Together we attacked five elections (including a survey of local authorities) and were successful. Why should we not continue this winning alliance? The decision to move from the Alliance can only be adopted by AICC,” he said.
Mr. Selvaperunthagai also responded to the leaders of the opposition and Secretary of Secretary Aiadmk Edapppadi K. Palaniswami that DMK allies were unable to speak freely. “He should read newspapers every day. When the state government increased the tariff of electricity, we opposed this assembly. Similarly, we opposed the hike and road tax.
He added that everyone in Tamil knew the state of AIADMK and said that Mr. Panalaniswami should not talk about other political parties.
