HYDERABAD
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Rajendranagar district in-charge P. Karthik Reddy said the South Bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) did not dismiss his petition regarding the Musi Riverfront Project but disposed of it as the state government said everything about the project was in the initial (application) stage.
In a statement, Mr. Karthik Reddy said on Saturday that the state government had submitted to the NGT that the project would go ahead only after completing all the formalities. The tribunal suggested the petitioner (him) to approach it later if the government did not keep its word. He said that his petition made the government inform the NGT that it was doing certain things which it did not even mention in the assembly. He would approach the tribunal again if the government did not implement any of the proposals made (by the tribunal).
Meanwhile, 50 BRS Vidyarthi teams have gone to visit the areas along the Musi river course till April 14. Party leaders T. Srinivas Yadav, Ravula Chandrashekhar Reddy and others left the teams. They would find out the actual conditions along the river course, the views of the people living there on the government’s proposed project and explain the government’s mining plans.
