Garima Saikia Garg, the wife of singer-composer Zateen Garg, returned the second autopsy report of her husband to a special investigation team (SIT) probe that surrounds his death in Singapore 19 September.
Sit officer, mostly composed of officials of the Assam Police (CID) police investigation department, handed over a report on Saturday (October 4, 2025) after a message in her residence in the Guwahati area in Kahilipara. She received the first autopsy report made on the 52 -year -old Asam cultural icon 2. October.

According to a preliminary investigation of the Singapore police, Garg died by drowning while swimming from the island.
“I decided to return a report after mortem to the investigative official because it is part of the ongoing spacecraft. Authorities or court will decide whether the report should be published. I believe in the legal system to fulfill justice,” Mrs. Garg told reporters.
Another police superintendent (CID) and Member of SIT, Mormeee Das, said the investigation team recorded the statement of Mrs. Garg and the younger sisters of the Singer, Palmi Borthakur. “What they said could not be published at this stage,” she said.
On October 2, the Singapore police force issued a statement stating that it had provided a copy of the autopsy report of Garg and its preliminary findings on its transition to the high commission of India at their request.
“Police investigation is underway. The mild public is recommended not to share any videos or images concerning the circumstances of Garg’s browsing, from the respect of the deceased,” the statement read.
Although the report excluded any foul, people in Assam were not convinced. Under pressure, the state government had another post mortem in hours before Garg 23 was cremated with full state awards and 21-zbrana on the edge of Guwahati.
Arrest
Four people have been arrested so far. Shyamkan Mahanta, organizer of the Northeast India festival in Singapore, where Garg was to plan the performance, as well as Siddharth Sharma, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amritprabha Mahanta-Respektive. The first two were arrested in the capital of 1 October and the last two in Guwahati 2. October after six -day interrogation.
All four were transferred in a 14 -day CID. Investigators examine irregularities in statements provided by the accused.
3 October Governor Assam represented the Judicial Commission for one man, headed by the judge of the High Court in Gauhati Tujmit Saikius, to explore the circumstances surrounding Garg’s death.
Meanwhile, media reports claimed that Mr. Goswami claimed that the late singer could have been poisoned and his killers tried to portray his death on a foreign location as an accident.
