A POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) court in Manjeri has sentenced a woman and her boyfriend to 180 years rigorous imprisonment under various sections for sexually abusing her 12-year-old daughter. They were also fined ₹11.75 crore.
Justice AM Ashraf ordered that the convicts will have to undergo another 20 months in jail if they fail to pay the fine. But they will serve the sentences concurrently.
The girl was abused for about a year from December 2019 to November 2020 in a rented house in Anamangad and then another year in a house in Vallikkapatta. The court found that the convicts abused the girl after giving her alcohol and showing her sex videos.
