KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane revealed why Cameron Green lacked confidence in the final against GT. Green was Kolkata’s savior with the bat as he relieved some of the pressure on the price tag with a 55-ball 79 in Ahmedabad. However, the Australian all-rounder was not trusted with the ball, especially in the final.

GT looked on course to secure victory but KKR managed to pull things to the final with Gujarat needing five from six balls. But Rahane turned the ball to Ramandeep Singhand he couldn’t save it despite picking out the wicket of Glenn Phillips.
After the loss, Rahane said Green was dealing with cramps and was on and off the field during the match.
“Actually he was struggling with cramps, that’s why he didn’t bowl. He was on and off the field during the 2nd innings,” Rahane said.
Despite his fifth loss in six games, Rahane looked at the positives from the game and praised Green for his batting under pressure and how the bowlers managed to take things to the final over.
“Yes, as you said. It’s never easy after losing a match and then coming here to talk about the match. I just want to talk about the positive things we did tonight, especially the way we started after going 2-3 wickets down. Cameron Green’s innings today was excellent under pressure,” Rahane said.
“He played an amazing innings on the counter by taking on their bowlers which was great to see. From being on 147/4 to 180 it was a bit difficult from our batsmen but credit to our bowlers as they managed to finish the game. They all contributed well.”
‘BE IN THE MOMENT’
With just one point from six games, KKR are now on the brink and staring at an early exit from the tournament. Despite this, Rahane said he wanted the side to be in the moment and go out and enjoy the game.
“I think it’s all about being in the moment. When things don’t go your way, you have to be in the moment. I want the guys to just try and go out, enjoy the game, come back as a unit and then control the things you can control. We wanted to be aggressive today, be positive from ball number one,” Rahane said.
KKR will now return to the Eden Gardens to face RR in their next match on Sunday, April 19.
