
For most people, leaving from highly paid work in one of the largest technology companies in the world could sound unthinkable. But for 37-year-old Florence Poirel, who earned nearly $ 390,000 in Google Zurich, it was a decision to stop time-not money.
Eighteen months ago, Poirel resigned from her career to take what she calls “mini retirement”. With $ 1.5 million and investing at the beginning of 2024, she built enough pillows to cover her expenses for at least a year and a half. Now, more than 18 months later, he admits that she did not feel bored. Her days are full of reading, swimming in Lake Zurich and traveling with her partner to destinations like Brazil and Australia.
