Four people died and 51 others were injured on the bridge above the Indrayani River near Talegaon, Pune, Maharashtra, collapsed on Sunday afternoon.
The district collector Jitendra Dudi told the press agency or that the incident occurred at 15:15 and received information on Sunday at 15:30.
The deceased were identified as Chandrakant Salve, Rohit Mane and Vihaan Mane, while the fourth remains unidentified.

Why did Pune Bridge collapsed?

“This narrow bridge was designed for the movement of farmers, but 250-300 tourists stood on it and the bridge collapsed due to excessive load … The entrance was rejected across the bridge, even the police and the locals warned,” Mahajan said.

Meanwhile, the clerk reportedly said that more than 100 people were present on the bridge, a popular place for tourists and picnics when the incident occurred in Kundamale – which has seen heavy rain over the past few days, giving the river a permanent flow.
The reports also reported that the narrow substance was full of more than 150-200 people when part of it retreated and threw tens into the water.
One of those injured in the incident was quoted as he said: The bridge collapsed… people standing in the middle of the bridge were swept … We fell on the stones and got hurt … ”

2. Restrictions and warning of danger
Minister Maharashtra Makarand Patil said on Sunday that the bridge that collapsed in Pune was limited to people and two -wheeled, but people collapsed because they were “enthusiastic” for monsoon tourism.

3. Old Bridge
Iron pedestrian bridge on the Inrayani River was 32 years old, reported by PTI.
NCP-SCP MLA Rohit Pawar said the bridge was “quite old and used to be a discussion of his renovation”.
“Unfortunately, it could not be done. There are many bridges that are old, some date up to 100 years, from the colonial era, throughout the Mahari and their situation is also dilapidated …” he added.
Meanwhile leader Shiv hay (UBT) Anand Dubey claim £8 Crore was sanctioned for the bridge, but never used.
