Why did Bihar skip Diljit Dosanjh’s concert despite the singer’s interest in performing there? | Today’s news
Diljit Dosanjh has performed to packed audiences across India and abroad, but there’s one state where he couldn’t perform his live show: Bihar. The singer recently revealed that he wanted to perform in the state, but plans fell through due to disagreements over who would be responsible for crowd management.
Why did Diljit Dosanjh’s concert never happen in Bihar despite his interest in it
During an Instagram Live appearance after his concert in Delhi on 30 October, Diljit recalled that efforts were made to organize a show in Bihar last year as well. However, discussions did not move forward after crowd management became a major issue.
The singer explained what happened in Punjabi: “We tried to go to Bihar; we tried to go to Bihar last time too. But they said it was difficult to handle the crowd. They asked if we would take responsibility for it. I said we can’t; they will have to take that responsibility. Because they didn’t, we couldn’t go.”

His comments suggest that the problem was not a lack of interest on the part of the singer or his team, but the arrangement that was necessary to handle the audience expected at such a large concert.
Why did Diljit Dosanjh’s Bihar concert fail?
Diljit also explained why he was not willing to take the responsibility of managing the crowd at the proposed event. According to him, his concerts attract large audiences and require much more than just a venue and a stage.
“You know, it’s difficult to handle the crowd. It’s not just a small gathering, it’s a massive crowd. I had to consider the logistics. It’s like organizing an event in Delhi,” he said.
A concert involving thousands of people requires proper arrangements for security, entry and exit points, traffic movement, parking and emergency response. These measures also require coordination between event organizers, venue management, local government and the police.
Diljit was worried that managing the crowd cannot be considered the responsibility of the artiste alone. While the singer and his team could organize a performance, managing a large gathering and ensuring public safety would require the support of the authorities.
The singer did not name the officials involved in the discussions or specify the proposed location. Also, the announcement of the new date of the concert in Bihar has not been publicly confirmed.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Diljit’s plans to tour India have faced hurdles. His concert in Delhi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30 also ran into trouble before he got permission.
The Delhi concert also faced clearance hurdles
Diljit kicked off the Indian leg of his AURA Tour 2026 with a performance in Delhi. However, the parade faced uncertainty after the Delhi Police initially withheld permission citing security concerns and law and order measures on holidays.
Organizers subsequently presented additional plans regarding security, traffic and crowd management. The concert eventually went ahead and Diljit later thanked the Delhi Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for their support.
Talking about the difficulties during his Instagram live session, the singer said that several people tried to stop the concert in Delhi, but the show eventually went ahead. He also pointed out that organizing concerts in India was often fraught with problems, despite his experience of performing internationally.
The situation in Bihar points to a larger problem facing India’s growing live entertainment industry. As major artists attract ever-larger audiences, organizing concerts requires close coordination between private event companies and government agencies.
Where will Diljit Dosanjh perform next?
After the Delhi concert, Diljit is scheduled to take his AURA India Tour 2026 to several other cities. Its announced stops include Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Kolkata.
However, Bihar is not part of the announced schedule. The singer did not confirm whether there is another attempt to organize a concert in the state.
