“The Congress government in the state is trying to divert attention from the controversy surrounding the sting operation against some of its leaders,” Union Minister Pralhad Joshi said in Hubballi on Sunday.

“I don’t understand why the Congress government is trying to divert public attention from the so-called sting operation instead of investigating the alleged political conspiracy against former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,” he said.

“Minister Yatindra Siddaramaiah’s statement about a conspiracy against his father is a serious allegation. The Congress government should find out who hatched this conspiracy. Why is the Congress government not taking any action against it?” he said.

“My personal opinion is that instead of taking action on this issue, we are trying to bring other issues to the fore and divert the discussion about the sting operation,” he said. He said differences among Congressional leaders are driving the effort.

He said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi often goes on foreign visits but the details of them are not disclosed.

“Why are details regarding his foreign destinations and meetings abroad being kept under wraps,” he asked, saying other public figures were transparently sharing such updates.

Mann Ki Baat

Later, he watched the 139th episode of Mann Ki Baat at Jagadguru Gurusiddeshwara Kalyan Mantap in Ole Math.

He said the program brought national attention to the fact that the famous red Kalaburagi gram was being exported to the Maldives. The prime minister also felicitated a Karnataka-based bamboo start-up that makes eco-friendly packaging from bamboo and agricultural waste, he said.
