TV star Pankaj Dheer, known for playing Karna in Mahabharat Br Chopra and King Shivdutt in fantasy drama Chandrakant, died on Wednesday, October 15 at the age of 68 after a long battle with cancer.
“He died this morning because of cancer. He was in the hospital and out of the hospital in recent months,” said producer and friend Ashoke Pandit PTI.
According to media reports, his cancer relapsed two years ago after undergoing the main surgery for the first time. The cremation will take place later during the day.
Pankaj Dheer Dheer survived his wife Anita Dheer Dheer Dheer, who is also an actor.

Pandjaby native, Pankaj Dheer, began as an actor at the age of 80, in many films he presented in smaller roles. His big break came in 1988, when he was occupied as Karna in a small screen adaptation of the Hindu epic Mahabharata.
