Iranian media reported on Monday, April 6, that the head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards intelligence organization, Majid Khademi, had been killed in strikes from the United States and Israel. Citing a statement from the Guards, Iranian media reported that Majid Khademi was killed in a “terrorist attack by the US-Zionist (Israeli) enemy”.
Launching Operation Epic Fury, the US and Israel launched airstrikes against Iran on February 28, killing several key figures, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib, IRGC Navy Chief Alireza Tangsiri, Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of General Staff, and another Major Abdolrahim M.
The killing of Majid Khademi became the latest key figure to be killed in US-Israeli airstrikes.
The Israeli Air Force (IAF) said: “Sharing the details in a post on X, it said: “Guided by accurate intelligence from Military Intelligence, the Air Force struck overnight in Tehran and killed Majid Khotam-Khasini Khademi – the head of the Revolutionary Guards’ intelligence organization.
Who was Majid Khademi?
Majid Khademi took over as head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards intelligence organization in 2025 after Israeli airstrikes killed his predecessor, Mohammad Khotami.
He spent decades in intelligence and counterintelligence roles while working his way through Iran’s security apparatus.
Before his appointment as head of the Revolutionary Corps’ intelligence services, Majid Khademi headed the Guards’ intelligence protection organization.
As head of the Guards Intelligence Protection Organization, Majid Khademi was tasked with handling internal surveillance and counterintelligence. He also held senior roles in Iran’s Ministry of Defense.
The IRGC’s intelligence arm is one of Iran’s most powerful security agencies, with a central role in domestic surveillance to counter foreign influence and often operating in parallel with the civilian Ministry of Intelligence.
According to the IAF, Majid Khademi was a key figure in the campaign.
“The intelligence he gathered was used to advance and carry out acts of terrorism. In addition, Khademi acted in support of acts of terrorism against the State of Israel and against Jews worldwide and participated in attempts to strike American targets, and was even tasked with monitoring Iranian citizens as part of suppressing internal protests in Iran,” the IAF said on X.
In a separate operational update from Lebanon, the IDF announced that fighters from the Nahal Reconnaissance Unit eliminated the militants responsible for the deaths of Captain Noam Madmoni, First Sergeant Ben Cohen, First Sergeant Maxim Antis and First Sergeant Gilead Harel.
According to the IDF, the militants were killed during close combat, and later intelligence confirmed that they were the same individuals responsible for the soldiers’ deaths.
