Former Indian cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara’s brother-in-law, Jeet Pabari, was found dead in his flat in the Gujarat city of Rajkot on Wednesday. The police confirmed the death as a suicide.
On Wednesday morning, Pabari (30) was found unresponsive at his residence in Harihar Society, after which he was taken to a private hospital. However, the doctors declared him dead. The police were immediately informed and his body was later taken to a government hospital for post-mortem.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the case.

Jeet Pabari and his family were based in Rajkot, according to a report by The Free Press Journal. His business is connected with cotton ginning. The report further states that the Pabari family hails from Jamjodhpur and has been living in Rajkot for more than two decades.
Pabari married the cricketer’s sister less than a year ago.
According to another report by The Week, Pabari’s wife and mother were on the ground floor of the house when he allegedly committed suicide on November 26, 2025. When his wife went to the first floor around 11am, she found his body. The family members immediately rushed him to Wockhardt Hospital.
According to a report from The Week, Jeet Pabari died by suicide exactly one year after his ex-fiancée filed a rape case against him on November 26, 2024. According to the report, she accused him of forcing her into a sexual relationship with the promise of marriage.

Police officials quoted by India Today said Pabari had secured anticipatory bail at the time and appeared before investigators. Charges were then filed in court based on evidence gathered during that investigation, the report said. Rajkot ACP BJ Choudhary said, “Jeet Pabari committed suicide at his home. He hung a rope from the window grill of his first-floor bedroom… Police took the body to a government hospital for post-mortem. The body was then handed over to the family.”
The police claimed that no motive has yet been identified regarding Jeet Pabari’s alleged suicide.
