Meet the Aurelien Fonnoy, a French cyclist who climbed the Eiffel Tower in a record time
The courageous performance, completed on October 2, 2025 in Paris, broke the previous record – which stood since 2002 – by almost seven minutes.
The event took place in one of the most famous monuments in the world, where Fonnoy climbed from the base to the second floor using an off -road mountain bike.
During this challenge, he never allowed his feet to touch the ground, a rule confirmed by the Eiffel Tower management when the record is verified. The second floor, the highest point accessible by the stairs, marked the finish line for its exhaustive ascent.
Fonenoy, known for his accuracy and physical endurance, described the climb as one of his most difficult challenges. “It’s really tiring on her shoulders and legs,” he admitted. “I didn’t expect to be so fast.”
The Eiffel Tower was my dream climb. “The 34 -year -old man explained that pedaling was impossible during the ascent.
This is not the first extreme success of Fonnoy. In 2021 he encountered Trinity Tower in Paris and in 2025 he modified the TV tower in Estonia Tallinn. Eiffel Tower Challenge has been in its plans for years, but was delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The record emphasizes not only Fonnoy’s technical championships, but also a growing global interest in extreme sports challenges.
